The Optima Spare Tire Kit has different kits to choose from:
Kit for 16" and 17" Wheels and Kit for 18" Wheels WITHOUT Mounted Tire: This does NOT come with a tire. You will have to buy and mount your own tire.
- 16" or 17" Steel Wheel (based on what your vehicle's factory wheel size is)

- Mounting Plate Screw to secure the kit inside trunk

Spare tire
A little expensive and they should be in all new cars. If the government is mandating that they are not then they should pay for it. That being said it's all about having peace of mind on the road.

KIA OPTIMA SPARE TIRE KIT
KIA OEM Factory spare kit. Installs easily. Just need to make sure to place the rubber blocks so that the rim doesn't contact the trunk pan. I test placed the tire on the blocks before removing the adhesive. The blocks are under the edge of the rim and tire bead so the edge of the rim and the rubber of the tire are sitting on the blocks.

My daughter purchased her first car with her own money and it did not come with the spare tire. Since she is headed off to college this fall and will be making frequent long drives home, I wanted to make sure she had a spare in case of a flat. Without it roadside assistance doesn't help much!! Found this kit and it is perfect. Has all tools and parts required to change the tire and fits perfectly in the trunk just like it came from the factory like this. Highly recommend.

My 2012 Kia Optima EX needed a spare tire
My 2012 Optima came with a factory "tire mobility kit" not a spare tire. The fix-a-flat wasn't going to work if one busted a sidewall on the highway. The tire kit was an easy order with the assistance of the online chat rep. I suggest you get the full kit with mounted tire. Arrived via UPS in quick fashion. Easy install with detailed instructions.
